How to implement circular solutions in the textile industry

The textile industry is undergoing a significant transformation, with circular production becoming a key priority starting in 2025. Are we ready for this transition?

On April 8th, at TexCycle facility in Varna, Dean Manev, Vice Chairman of Bulgarian Fashion Association, together with other experts discussed how to implement circular solutions in the textile industry. The discussion involved representatives from business, local authorities, NGOs, educational institutions, and other stakeholders and was a good opportunity to present VERDEinMED project and to find synergies with the Green-Tex project.

Key takeaways from the event:
✅ The existing infrastructure and accumulated expertise should serve as a foundation for achieving sustainable results, rather than being lost.
✅ Partnerships among various stakeholders are crucial for the successful transformation of the sector.
✅ Clear regulations and financial support are essential for achieving long-term changes.

The event was part of the international project Interreg Green-Tex, which unites 9 European countries in efforts to promote sustainable textile production across the Danube region.

Guests had the opportunity to see firsthand how TexCycle’s sorting and recycling center operates, demonstrating how effective organization and collaboration can lead to tangible results.

The transformation of the textile sector is not a matter of choice – it is inevitable. The time to act is now if we want to turn the sustainable model into reality!
